Side Quest Chronicles is a South African skate and youth culture platform focused on documenting, supporting, and growing the local skate scene. Through events, storytelling, and community-driven activations, SQC highlights the people and places that shape skateboarding culture across the country.
Our work focuses on bringing together skaters, creatives, and supporters while creating moments that reflect the energy of South African skate communities.
Our Goal
The goal of Side Quest Chronicles is to help strengthen the visibility of South African skate culture. By documenting local communities, hosting events, and producing media around the scene, we aim to show that skateboarding in South Africa is active, diverse, and constantly evolving.
Greater visibility creates greater opportunity for skaters, brands, creatives, and the broader culture surrounding skateboarding.
What We Do
Side Quest Chronicles hosts skate events and community sessions that bring local scenes together while giving skaters a space to connect, compete, and express themselves. Alongside these events, we document the people, moments, and environments that shape skateboarding culture through photo, video, and digital storytelling. Through this process, SQC helps connect skaters from different cities, encouraging collaboration and building a stronger sense of community across the South African skate scene
